The woman in the blue saree makes shell-based handiworks for a living. She takes the handicrafts 30 minutes down the road and sells them to shopkeepers. 30 minutes down the road takes you to the southern most tip of India and tourist central for Indians. The shopkeepers pay her, and others like her, around 60 rupees ($1.25) for a handicraft seen above. Because the shopkeepers are in tourist central, they then turn around and sell the above handiwork for around 550-650 rupees ($12.25-14.50).

The woman in the blue saree really needs to open her own handicraft shop.
